About Next Wave Academy

Next Wave Academy is a youth basketball development program based in Edmonton, built to help athletes grow their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game in a positive and competitive environment.

Our focus goes beyond wins and losses. We are committed to developing well-rounded players who are prepared to compete, learn, and lead — both on and off the court.

Every athlete is taught the fundamentals, habits, and mindset needed to improve at their own pace while being challenged to reach the next level.

Our programs emphasize ball handling, shooting, defense, game IQ, and effort, while maintaining high standards for attitude, accountability, and respect. We create an environment where athletes are supported, pushed, and encouraged to believe in their ability.

Next Wave Academy offers U11, U13, U15, and U17 programs for boys and girls, including seasonal development teams and tournament opportunities. With small rosters and focused coaching, athletes receive meaningful reps and individual attention.
